The Shine Liger

The Shine Liger transformed from the Shadow Liger when the core was struck by lightning triggering a dormant evolution process. After this first transformation, the form became available for use in battle situations. However using the form puts an extremely heavy toll on the Zoid and the form lasts for only ten minutes. Once the transformation can no longer be sustained the Shadow Liger falls back into it's normal self and its system is completely drained of energy causing it to go into a system freeze. It should only be used in emergency situations.
The Shine Liger's dagger mane isn't attached to the body at all. Instead it floats in a field of concentrated electromagnetism which can be manipulated by the Zoid allowing it to use the mane as a weapon. The boosters, stablizer fins, and tail daggers are all held on in this way. The Shine Dagger Mane can be used like a whip since the field of electromagnetism can be extended far beyond the body. Each of the individual daggers line up end to end and are swung around which can cause heavy damage to an enemy Zoid especially when the daggers are charged. Even though they are free floating, the daggers, boosters, and fins are nearly impossible to remove unless the Zoid wills it.
Another interesting feature of the Zoid is that it's coated in a field of electricity much like the Death Stinger's E-sheild was coated across its body. However a major difference between the Stinger's shield and the Liger's shield is that the Liger's isn't meant to block attacks. Instead when an enemy (or possibly a friendly) touches the Liger, large amounts of electricity are sent into the other Zoid causing system freezes in small Zoids and heavy system damage to larger Zoids.
When the Shadow Liger is in this form it's difficult to bring out its full potential and has a tendancy to run "wild".

The idea for this Zoid came to me while sitting in english class yesterday. Inspiration for the weapons came from the game Okami in which Amaterasu has floaty weapons. In particular her rosary weapons float around her neck like the Shine Liger's mane and are used like whips. Also the fact that it is a form and not a permenant evolution came from both Sora's (Kingdom Hearts 2) drive forms and the Murasame Liger's (an official Zoid) ability to change into the Hayate Liger and the Mugen Liger. Plus gold floaty manes/weapons are cool!
Again I used my action figure Liger for some reference. I didn't have my Blade Liger for lower leg reference so I just kinda made it up as I went. The pic was drawn and inked by hand, but the color and text was done in Photoshop. I was going for a cell shaded look if you can't tell. *shrug*
