Frost Dragons are the only dragons that can breathe an icy vapor minus 50 degrees. It is said that the food they eat (seals, walrus, polar bears, other arctic creatures) is converted into nitrogen that's stored in two special sacs near the dragons lungs. The nitrogen is compressed by extremely strong muscles until it reaches an almost liquid state. When the gas is realeased as the dragon exhales the gas uncompresses and absorbs all the heat in the immediate area freezing anything in its path. No one has been known to survive this icy blast and live to tell about it, but others say that it's posible if you are seriously protected.
Frost dragons migrate from the Arctic to Antarctica every year spending the three darkest months (December, January, Febuary) of the northern winter in the Arctic and the three darkest months of the souther winter (June, July, and August) in Antarctica. The trip takes around two months one way. Frost dragons live in small groups of up to five dragons and they mate every ten years.
Frost Dragons are often light blue, light grey, light purple, or a slate color. White Frost Dragons have become rare because they were hunted for their valuable white scales.
I had lots of fun coloring the scales though I messed up with the layers so the picture is not as neat as I would like but I'm still happy with the way it turned out. I got the information on how the frost blast is made from [link]
and the migratory info from my student Dragonology book.
